WELCOME TO COMPETITIVE SWIMMING
Welcome to all our new families and welcome back to the returning ones.
Please continue to visit the site for updated information such as Swimmer of the Month , and your Newsletter.
The 2011/2012 season of Barracuda’s Swimming will hopefully be the most promising and successful yet. In addition to all the information included in this handbook, there are a few extra things to pass on from my perspective as a coach (this may be a repeat from last year). This will enable myself and the other coaches to do a better job coaching your children.
1. Please feel free to speak to any of the coaches before or after practice time. I will try to be at the pool each afternoon at 3:30 and will try to stay a little late in order to discuss any comments or concerns that you may have. Feel free to call me at home (778-1237) or email me at schottm@hotmail.com.
2. In order to keep good relations between the coaching staff, parents and swimmers, please make sure that comments are made directly to the coach and not passed along.
3. Once again this season, all swimmers are required to be on deck 15 minutes prior to the start of their scheduled swim time. This time will be used for stretching or to discuss any important upcoming events.
A swim club can only be successful with the help of all of its members. The health of the club depends on everyone. Throughout the season, our club will participate in a few fundraisers, to help offset the cost of pool time, etc. When it comes time to participate in these fundraisers, please do all you can to raise money for the club. When everybody helps, the whole club benefits. When not everyone helps out, the whole club loses. A special note to our new swim families, don’t worry. The world of competitive swimming may look a little confusing from afar but once you are into the swing of things, it gets a lot better. Just ask a lot of questions. Last year I found it to be the most rewarding with my swimmers parents. You were all very easy to talk to and very helpful in helping your children follow the guidelines that I provided. All coaches say that the only problem in coaching; is the kid’s parents. Last year was another success.
Thanks.
I am looking forward to an excellent season with you and your children.
Sincerely,
Misty Shotter
Head Coach
